Erin's Bash

Last weekend was Erin and Chad's house warming party in Northwood, Iowa. I took off work last Friday at 11 so I could get there at a decent hour. The drive was long but it went pretty fast it took about 5 1/2 hours and I was by myself so I had to entertain myself, my singing skills are great so that helped. I got there around 4:30 and right away we had lots of stuff to get done. Pat and Beatle were already there when I arrived. We went to the grocery store first to get some supplies for dried beef roll ups and popcicle sticks for carmel apples. Well Erin didn't grab enough money so we sat at the check out and waited for Chad to bring us some more money - the total was like 12 or something. So that was fun. Kyle and Matt showed up next and they tried making carmel popcorn while I did roll ups. Sam and Michelle were the next to arrive and by then we were done preparing and were just drinking outside. Jenny and James showed up a little later. It was a fun night to just talk and B.S. with everyone since we all don't get together that much. Saturday morning came fast though and we had a lot to do. Keith showed up in the afternoon as well which was awesome. We had people cooking, cleaning, decorating, and etc all morning till about 2, when the party was supposed to start. Erin didn't inform anyone that around 50 people were coming and that we got a party bus. They also got a keg. The day/night was fun we drank, ate, played yard games, and drank some more until the party bus got there at 9. Then we headed to the bar in town had a couple drinks and then we went to the casino. I won $25 playing blackjack and Michelle won about $100 on the penny machine -not sure how anyone else did. Sam, Keith, and I almost got kicked out of the casino - I guess you can't take photos in there, OOPS! Erin and Kylie got Burger King which was awesome. We ended up coming back to Erin's house around 1 which was late enough for me. Sam and I went to bed right away and then Sunday morning came. It wasn't bad driving to the cities because Sam and Michelle were with me (well in separate cars but right next to me). But from the cities back to Fargo was rough. I thought I was never going to get home. But when I did I rented some movies and Nathan and I got to spend some time together, which was nice because it's rare with our schedules. This coming weekend I will make my way to Minot for a wedding! Pictures will be posted soon!

NEW HAIR!!!

Ok so most of you know that I don't care what I look like and don't care what I do with my hair. I always say that I want long hair because all the hot celebrities have long hair like Kim and Kloe, my girls, but there's a difference between  us, I don't have someone to do my hair every day so I usually just throw it up in a  pony tail or a messy bun ... sometimes brushed, sometimes not brushed, sometimes washed, sometimes no wash. I work in an office where I onlyl see my co-workers and then also work in a deli where I wear a hair net. BUT I think I want to cut my hair short, just like shoulder length. And also I haven't colored my hair in a LONG time so half my head is new growth and half is the colored part. So I think i want to color it too. My friend Kristin said that I can't just do one color so I'm thinking some highlights or low lights - just a couple though. Here are two pics that I like so far:

I'm not trying to look like Ashlee Simpson, but I do like these two styles ... I think this might be easy enough to just blow dry in the morning and will look good ... I'll post pics if I actually go though with this ... Hopefully next week!!!

This is the new cut! ... This was before a wedding so it was actually done up good!
Here is another model pose ... LOL ... but ya you can tell it's shorter.

Mid October

So last weekend was my first weekend workin at the Deli. I worked Fri night 4-9. The time just flies. It doens't even seem like I am there for like an hour. After I got done with work I met Jen and Brady out at Bucks. They were playing pool and getting their drink on. I only stayed till about midnight then I hit the road, I hit up WalMart on my way home to pick up some things I needed. I got home and went to bed. Nathan got home around 4 AM from work and slept for a couple hours then got up at the crack of dawn to go pheasant hunting. I didn't set my alarm cause I didn't have to work till 12. Well I ended up sleeping in till 10 AM. That never happens! I went to work from 12-6 (first time working a day shift) I met 2 people that I have never worked with before. They were nice. Once I was done with work I went to Lisbon to hang out with the Bratlies. Bob, Robin, Nathan, and I met Kyle and Crystal out at the Steak Out for supper. It was nice to see all of them again. We had some really nice dinner conversations. Once we got home we were all ready for bed, I fell asleep on the couch and woke up at 8:30 the next morning and took off back to Horace - Nathan had already left for hunting. Once I got to Horce I started baking some Smore recipe that I wanted to bring to Erin's party but Nathan already ate most of them! ... Once I made a batch of them I got ready for work. I worked 12:30 - 9. It was a slow day. We had everything done by 8 but had to stay till 9. Longest hour of my life. But once I got home Nathan had some pheasant frying up. It was great. OH...and we have a new roommate. Nathan's friend John moved in with us so last night was the first night we all hung out together. I stayed up till about 11 so I am feeling tired today! Tonight I have to go to Department Training at the Hornbacher's close to my work from 5:30 - 7. I'll definately be ready for bed by 8 tonight!

fRiEnDs ???

So I usually am the type to like everyone as long as they are "good" people. I hate fake people though. So if I find out you're fake I'm going to hold a grudge and probably won't be a real good friend. An actual friend recently told me that they used to not like "fake" people but they said they got over it and said it wasn't worth them getting pissed off every time those "fake" people were around because they are never going to change. What a good point. So from here on out I'm going to try and take that advice and pretend I don't hate them and make the best of it. I'm so glad I don't have to "run" into these people that often!

Text Messages...

Maybe I just have too much time on my hands -- but if I get a text message I reply back - maybe not right away if I'm busy but I usually ALWAYS text back ... and usually I'm the first to text someone anyways, especially if I haven't talked to someone in a while I usually am the first to text them to see what's up. Without having facebook (because it's filled with drama and a bunch of fake people who put on an act to think they're better and their lives are super fun and interesting - but they're not which is annoying (not saying all are like that but most) ) it's hard to keep up with EVERYONE'S lives and I FEEL like people just get too involved in facebook and don't even really care about their real lives and are so obsessed with everyone else's. I think people are more likely to write someone back on facebook than text someone back. Maybe they just don't want to talk to me and I should get the hint ... haha.

Why? ... Why oh why ???

Just some thoughts that have crossed my mind. WHY do people say they are going to do something and then not do it ? ... Like especially when people make the plans way far in advance ... wait it gets better ... then you ask them if the plans are still on and they say I'm not sure ... BUT then you hear from someone else that they have different plans and just don't tell you. That's super nice, right? I guess if it's me and I tell you something I'm going to do it - unless like some emergency happens and in that case I would apoloigize still.

Oktoberfest Fargo 2011

So my friend Erika came to Fargo this past weekend so we could participate in the Oktoberfest Pub Crawl. She came down Friday night and we went and ate at Old Chicago and just took it easy. Nathan was out of town hunting so we just came home after eating and put in a movie and I think we both fell asleep right away. We woke up the next morning and got ready for the Pub Crawl. It started at 11 but we wanted to get there early of course so we left the house around 10:15 AM. We starting off drinking coffee with some Irish Creme mixed in. We got to the first bar which was called the Pickled Parrot and they were having a bean bag tournement which we wanted to enter. We were early and the bar didn't open until 11 so we waited around with some others until they opened the doors. Once we got in it looked like they were running a little behind and didn't have the tourney ready so we just sat inside and drank a beer. We met a best friend named John who just got back from his second tour overseas. He was a nice guy and was doing the pub crawl by himself so I'm sure he appreciated our friendship.

These were the sweet trophys that you won if you won the tournement. After a bit of sitting in the bar we took our drins outside to check out the set up. They were almost ready to start the tourney. It was $5 bucks a person and whoever won got the trophys and all the money. We for sure thought we had it. Our first and last team we played were a couple by the names of Megan and Danon (like the yogurt) and we lost of first game. I was no good at all - Erika actually had some skill. Then we played again because it was whoever won 2 out of 3 games won. The second game went a little better for us it was neck in neck all the way till the end and they had 19 and we had 18 and they came and took it all from us. So that was it for the touney. But we figured it just wasn't meant to be and we moved on to the next bar.
This is how awesome we looked throughout the day/night. We sported Grandmas wristlets. I got the nick name Cindy Lauper because of them, I took it as a compliment. After the Pickled Parrot we decided that it might be best to just get one beer at each bar and then just pour half in each others glasses. This strategy worked out pretty good. I spent less money and stayed up longer than I normally would have. The next bar we stopped at was Dempsey's. This is where we first met some of our friends - Juicer is the only name we can remember, they were the ones that started the Cindy Lauper name.

This is a peice of art work that was in Dempsey's - I thought it was neat to have a naked chic hanging on the bar wall.
Our next stop was Empire Liquors - We met several besties here - I liked this bar it was more of a dive but of course that's what I love!
These two gals were aweome - the one was wearing a Spam Tshirt so that's why I wanted a pic - we ran into them at another bar and she referred to us as riff raff.

How could we pass up a picture with this love muscle - his Tshirt and mustache say it all.

Obviously dogs are allowed in bars - that's normal right especially belly up at the bar!

Our next stop was Side Street. This was a nice bar too they had a patio area so we sat outside - didn't meet any best friends so we didn't stay there too long. Then it was Rooters or Sports bar ... we didn't even have a drink there we just had them sign our passports because we were getting hungry so we moved on to Rhombus Guys which is a pizza place/bar. Right as we were walking in our friends from Dempsey's showed up and were like you guys are getting a table for 6 so we can sit too, right? We said yup and got a big table for all of us. This place was neat too they had all the tables covered in a huge piece of white back and crayons so we drew some pretty pics and an exit strategy because we wanted to take a Leinenkugel's snowboard that was hanging on the wall.

I drew a beer mug.
Our last stop was the OB. We got a medal for finishing the Pub Crawl. By this time I was a little tipsy. Our friend Jen met us after a little while and then Erika's brother and fiance came and then a little while later Nathan's friend Josh showed up. After we chilled there for a while we went to Buffalo Wild Wings - things get a little blurry from here! After BWW we went to WOW the bar Erika won some money playing black jack. Then we went to Big D's where my favorite band Betty Does was playing! I got to hang out and smoke cigarettes with the lead singer, NBD!!!
Love this pic.

Not sure what I was doing but it looks fun.
 We love each other.
Just the lead singer of Betty Does...
Erika's brother Logan and his fiance Stacy and us!!
We made it home by 11...so we put in a good 12 hour day of drinking and are still up and running today! Another successful weekend!

Dad's Birthday Party (age 49)

So Nathan and I went to my Dad's birthday party this past weekend. We didn't do too much on Friday just hung out with my mom and dad and aunt fawn and then my sister and cousins James and Stephen showed up. We drank some beers (some more than others - Nathan and my dad were pretty tipsy). Then Saturday Jami showed up bright and early and we went to town to shower. We started drinking bloody mary's pretty early and it was all up-hill from there! The guests that showed up were: Grandma and Grandpa Lane, Aunt Barb and Uncle Rez, neighbor Terri and Donnie, Karen and Jerry, Jenny and James, Michelle, Amber, Kristin, Jami, Pat, cousins Aarin, Gabby, Jack, and Belle, it was fun - and then us "kids" went into town to the bar and met up with Erin and Chad and Sam - It was blurry after a little bit - all I know is that is was a good time and I ended up moooning almost everyone there ... and woke up and had no idea how I got home ... that's what a call a good night!! Love my friends and family can't wait till next year it's gonna be my Dad's big 5-0 !!!
